OPI I Have a Herring Problem

Hello gentle readers.

What are you hooked on? Coffee? Buying Shoes? Three martini lunches?

Someone is hooked on stinky fishy stuff. Witness OPI I Have a Herring Problem. This polish is a beaut, smelly name notwithstanding. I Have a Herring Problem is a rich grey toned greeny-blue crelly-like substance with a gold glass fleck shimmer. It looks like a calm sea, gently ruffled by the wind, with the golden rays of the slowly setting sun glinting and sparkling off the planes and angles of the water. I am such a sucker for a colour like this and I fell for OPI I Have a Herring Problem hook, line and sinker.

Okay. Okay. Enough of the corny fish jokes. I promise.

I had to re shoot this polish. I don't know what happened to my photographs of it when I did a swatch-fest but they were really bad. My camera likes to be a creep, sometimes. I'm kind of glad that I did have to re shoot it because rather than just swatching, I applied it and wore it for several days and enjoyed every moment of it on my nails. This is two coats topped with my trusty Seche Vite and shot out in the bright Arizona sun. My camera pulled the blue to the fore but there is a grey-green quality to this polish that makes it richer, a touch murky, like the sea. *shivers with delight* Seriously, you need to see this one in person to get the full impact of it.

 Look at that gold shimmah!

OPI I Have a Herring Problem has a fabulous formula. Smooth, silky, sweet and biddable. This polish was a delight to apply as it flowed off that lovely brush I love so much onto my nails, sat it's self right down where I placed it and formed a perfect, opaque finish with no streaks, dragging, running, pooling on my cuticles or bubbling. Dry time is pretty good, not stellar; a quick dry top coat is definitely an asset and speeds up the process a bit.  I got a solid three days of wear out of this before I started getting little chips and feeling the need to change it. And, while three days doesn't sound like very long to some, it is perfectly fine with me, since I like to change my polish frequently. For some reason, I have yet to meet a polish that can survive intact longer than five days on me so three days is great, as far as I am concerned.

What do you think of OPI I Have a Herring Problem? Do you like it? If you think that it should be yours, it is easy enough to come by so get out there and get it.

Thank you so much for popping in. Have a terrific weekend and may your polish never bubble.
